Taky is coming soon for Android. Here’s what you’ll need when it arrives.

Phone and tag requirements.

Use an Android 12+ phone with NFC and a compatible NFC tag. Pair the tag in Setup. To scan it while another app is open, use Taky’s flashing tool with a writable, NDEF-compatible tag, then pair it. Flashing replaces existing data on the tag.

Permissions.

Setup guides you through accessibility, notification, usage, and precise-alarm permissions. Enable the permissions for the features you want to use. Website blocking depends on readable address bars in supported browsers; it is not a VPN or a universal web filter.

Unblocking your apps.

Tap your paired tag to unblock. If countdowns are enabled, Taky automatically blocks your apps again when your break ends. Two emergency unblocks per local calendar day are available when you can’t reach your tag.
